Your life is like a pond. You need to clear the wrong thoughts like dirt from your mind to make your life happy. The wrong thoughts obviously decrease your mental power and you are not able to enjoy all the success that you want in life. The fact is that what you are today and where you are because of the way you think which is largely habitual. If you are determined to change your habit of thinking patterns, if it is not that constructive and yielding results, you will be in a position to change both your inner and outer world.
The thinking pattern, experiences and the life of many people can be compared to a stagnant pond where the water never flows out and ultimately create a breeding ground for the creatures to occupy like they do with dirty water. People seldom try to come out from their behavior of negative thoughts even though the same create negative emotions like fear, worries, anger and jealousy. Despite their awareness of these facts that negative thoughts are very harmful, still they become unmotivated to change their thinking pattern to bring light into their otherwise gloomy lives.
Changing your thoughts, belief and attitudes is not easy, but for the betterment of your life, it is mandatory and you must do that. For example, in a traffic chaos, if a car bangs on your car, obviously you will be agitated and show your anger to the other car fellow, but nothing can be done to restore the car’s condition because it is already damaged. By showing your anger, which ultimately gets converted to rage, you don’t gain anything. At the most, the other fellow may compensate you to set right your car, but what about the negative emotion of anger shown by you. The way you regain your health after physical exercise, proper diet and rest, in the same way you can change your negative thoughts by substituting the same with positive thoughts.
The law of cause and effect says that for any achievement in your life, there is a cause. Nothing happens by any chance. Your life today is based on your past thoughts. The law of sowing and reaping in line with the Bible’s preaching is very appropriate for an effective life. The Bible says, “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. The Bible is not an agricultural book, but what it indicates that what the benefit is accrued by you today, it was your efforts, hardworking and positive actions of the past.
If you desire to have a different crop, then you have to sow some different seeds of thoughts followed by sincere efforts and actions. The thoughts of your inner mind will allow others to observe your outer reflection. For example, if you are jealous of one of your colleagues, who gets a promotion superseding you, your behavior will reflect the same to your interaction with him. Like ‘’Garbage in Garbage Out’’ as said in the computer world, ‘’Good in and Good out’’ is also relevant for any thought process.
Your mind is like a computer. You can preprogram to accomplish amazing things. If you practice to fill up your mind’s computer with a steady flow of clean, clear positive thoughts, various desires, wishes and goals and continually program and reprogram, you will feel confident and you will act without any stress, even when you are in distress because of odd situations.
The law of cause and effect is very important to understand how the mind is to be cleared of unproductive and non-constructive thoughts. “Thoughts are causes and conditions are effects”.
What you think most of the time? It is a trend for positive and joyful people that all the while, they think positive. They focus on their goals and formulate plans to achieve the same. Unhappy people concentrate on negative thoughts, blame others for their failure, find fault in every situation, exert their efforts halfheartedly and finally live a colorless life.
How to clear your pond? You have to inculcate a habit to develop your mind with optimism and self confidence. You have to exercise the power of the Law of Habit. You have to repeat a new habit of saying of some affirmations to achieve your plan and the same will make you energetic, powerful, optimistic and confident and in this way, your mental state, will not allow the negative thoughts to enter in your pond.
The power of affirmation is very strong. If you say something with full conviction and assumption every day and for more than two to three times, the same become your habit. Your affirmation or thought makes you what you are. But your brain has a negative default setting. If you don’t change that setting and replace the negative pattern of thoughts with a positive one, you won’t get what you want. You may exert your full efforts, put extra hours of labor and ensure to complete all your works on time, but if you are not determined to change the thinking pattern, you will not be in a position to accrue the hundred percent results. When you repeat positive, uplifting words to yourself, you are able to visualize the power of those affirmative words. They create magic on your mind. You become energetic, enthusiastic and result oriented. Your negative pattern of thoughts will decrease. Ultimately, you develop a “mental immune system”.
To clean your pond, you need to phrase all your affirmations in the three “Ps”: Personal, Present and Positive tense. Your all affirmations must start with “I”. For example, you say “I am confident to achieve” or “I am very eager to discharge”. You use the present tense and there should be not any future-oriented affirmation. For example, “I earn X number of rupees”. Finally, it should be in positive tense. Your subconscious mind can’t process a negative command. You should say “I am a non-smoker” rather than “I don’t smoke anymore”. The negative and futuristic pattern of thoughts will not help you to clean the dirt off your pond. Your mind should be kept as clear as a white paper so that you can fill up the same with any constructive thoughts.
